Yesterday I had the pleasure of touring and tasting some dishes at the new restaurant Coba Cocina in Idle Hour Shopping Center prior to it's grand opening March 18th . I have eaten at some of the top restaurants in the country and I have never seen a more beautiful restaurant than this. Every single detail was orchestrated in perfect harmony. There are a wide variety of foods featuring dishes from Mexico, South and Latin America, and Baja Texas. Lee and Phil Greer the owners of Coba Cocina hired Chef Alejandro Velasquez of the famed Mi Cocina in Dallas Texas, as the head chef and his wife Shanyn as the head dessert chef at Cocoh. I have sampled many of their dishes. They have a hamburger that is delicious. It's served on a branded Coba bun and is 2 thin double patties with their secret sauce. I also love their "design your own tacos" with hand hacked quacamole. . I was thrilled to taste their homemade Gelato! The last time I had Gelato this good I was in Italy. My kids are going to love coming here after school. Lee told me "Cocoh brings out the kid in everyone". They also open at 6:30 am for delicious Illy coffees and breakfast pastries. I'm looking forward to trying their coffee/gelato drinks. I could write for days on this restaurant. The Chihuly style light fixtures are truly extraordinary! I encourage you to look through the pictures and watch the video and try it out for yourself once it opens March 18th. I feel quite certain Coba Cocina has a little something for everyone!
